A Street Gallery Where Emerging Talents Meet and Mingle

An art event, "TOKYO CRAFT ART BREWING," is being held on a vacant lot along the Shibuya River. Suntory Beer's new series, "TOKYO CRAFT," collaborates with young artists to exhibit works themed around Tokyo's ongoing redevelopment. The event runs for two days only, October 18th and 19th, 2019, making it a special occasion.

Suntory Beer: "Brewing Culture"

Tokyo's Shibuya district is undergoing significant transformation with ongoing redevelopment. For two days only, the art event "TOKYO CRAFT ART BREWING" will take place on a vacant lot along the Shibuya River.

This event is part of a promotion for "TOKYO CRAFT," a beer series born in Tokyo, by Suntory Beer.

"TOKYO CRAFT ART BREWING" is a street gallery, open to the public free of charge, where "TOKYO CRAFT" collaborates with emerging artists who are challenging new creations to stimulate contemporary sensibilities, under the slogan "Brewing Culture."

Among the participating artists is ceramic artist Tomonari Hashimoto, who received the Award of Excellence at the Kobe Biennale 2014 Contemporary Ceramics Competition and was a finalist for the LOEWE Craft Prize 2019. Also featured is YATT, a unit formed by Utana Kobayashi, a member of the band "Black Boboi" that has garnered attention by participating in numerous festivals such as "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '19" and "森、道、市場2019" within just over a year of their formation, and art director YOSHIROTTE.

The lineup also includes rising stars poised to lead the next generation, such as music creator takakahn and neon artist waku, who has achieved global recognition with works provided for the UNIQLO San Francisco store.

Works selected and created with the theme of Tokyo's ongoing redevelopment, the event's setting, will be exhibited for these two days only.

"TOKYO CRAFT Pale Ale" 350ml cans will also be available for purchase at the venue.

On these autumn evenings, enjoy art that stimulates the senses while sipping "TOKYO CRAFT" at this street gallery adorning a vacant lot in Shibuya.

TOKYO CRAFT
"TOKYO CRAFT" is a new series manufactured exclusively at Suntory Beer's "Tokyo Musashino Brewery," part of its "Natural Water Beer Factory" series.

Suntory Beer, which has pursued brewing with themes of tradition and innovation for half a century in Tokyo, created this beer with affection and respect for "TOKYO," a city where tradition and innovation converge, aiming to stimulate the sensibilities of all who forge new paths.

It carefully selects popular beer styles from around the world and refines their flavors to suit Japanese palates.
