The Himalayas: Where Harshness and Gentleness Meet, Captivating Ishikawa
"What would it look like, gazing at Everest from that summit?" Lhotse (8516m), the mountain immediately south of Everest, had captured the heart of photographer Naoki Ishikawa when he successfully summited Everest for the second time in May 2011. The world's fourth-highest peak had been in his sight the entire time.
With that thought in mind, Ishikawa set out for Lhotse in the spring of 2013. Towering, precipitous mountains, the serene daily lives of Sherpa villages—During the exhibition, in addition to selling the photo book "Lhotse" (¥2940), visitors can also purchase the works on display. Furthermore, White Mountaineering will release original T-shirts (¥3990) created based on Ishikawa's photographs.
