Exhibition by Nine Emerging Japanese Photographers Held in Paris and Tokyo
IMA magazine has selected nine emerging photographers poised to lead the future of Japanese photography, and their unique, powerful works will be showcased in an exhibition titled 'LUMIX MEETS／TOKYO 2020 BY JAPANESE PHOTOGRAPHERS 9,' to be held in Paris and Tokyo. In Tokyo, the exhibition will run from Saturday, November 23rd to Sunday, December 1st, at Hillside Forum in Daikanyama.

The exhibition 'LUMIX MEETS／TOKYO 2020 BY JAPANESE PHOTOGRAPHERS 9' is presented by Amanah Holdings, the company behind IMA magazine, in collaboration with Panasonic, the maker of LUMIX digital cameras. Following its debut in Paris, France, during Paris Photo, a major event for art photography enthusiasts worldwide, the works of these emerging artists will make their triumphant return to Japan.
In an era where unique Japanese culture, encompassing architecture, anime, manga, and fashion, is highly acclaimed globally, Japanese photography is also gaining significant attention, much like the strong international interest shown towards pioneers such as Nobuyoshi Araki and Daido Moriyama. This exhibition aims to introduce the next generation of promising young Japanese photographers to the world.
The featured artists are nine photographers in their 20s and 30s selected by IMA: Maya Akashika, Yuji Hamada, Go Itami, Kosuke, Yoshinori Mizutani, Wataru Yamamoto, Daisuke Yokota, Kazuki Yoshida, and Uchiumi. Uchiumi, Yuji Hamada, and Yoshinori Mizutani will present new works created with the recently released mirrorless camera, 'LUMIX GM,' launched on November 21st. The other artists will showcase their representative works.
All exhibited works are available for purchase. Furthermore, by pointing the original iPhone or iPad app 'IMA+ARART' at the artworks at the venue, visitors can enjoy special augmented reality content.
