Abstract Paintings by Robin Fry, Rendered Like a Storyteller
Born in Canada in 1976, Robin Fry has been involved in painting, sculpture, and video production. He moved his base to Berlin in 2009, and following his highly acclaimed first solo exhibition in Japan, 'Golden Altitudes,' at Hiromart Gallery last year, he will hold another solo exhibition this year.
This exhibition marks the first public presentation of works from his new project, 'Psychedelic Rock Opera.' This narrative features characters such as werewolves and harlequins, presented as if seen through a prism. The project is envisioned to expand into painting, writing, sound, and even performance.
The exhibition, titled 'Wah Steel' after the protagonist who identifies himself as a '1980s electronic device instruction manual fetishist' werewolf, showcases abstract paintings. These works are outputs of the artist's inner world, derived from his experiences and fantasies, and are rendered as if he himself is the storyteller.
Additionally, a reception will be held on the opening day, Friday, September 6th, from 6:00 PM. 'Psychedelic Rock Opera,' a narrative with the potential to grow into a grand-scale saga, invites viewers into the nascent world of a story that has yet to reveal its full scope.
