26 Works on Display, From Classic to Contemporary
Fashion photography, which has historically served commercial purposes and magazine features while capturing the zeitgeist and pursuing originality, was not considered fine art until the 1980s. However, it is now garnering significant attention as an art form, with major museums in Europe and America hosting large-scale exhibitions of fashion photography.
"Art of Fashion Photography" showcases works from this "new field" that are capturing the interest of collectors and galleries worldwide.
The exhibition features approximately 26 pieces by artists whose work is recognized as art in Europe and America, ranging from classic to contemporary. Among them are Herb Ritts, known for his work on Madonna and for fashion pages in publications like "Vogue"; the distinctive fashion photographer Jeanloup Sieff, who began his career as a journalist; and Bettina Rheims, who also served as the official photographer for the French President.
These visuals, imbued with the mood and atmosphere of their respective eras, convey the allure of a new form of art.
