Opening Reception on the First Day

Born in 1985, Naomi Okubo completed her Master's degree in Oil Painting at Musashino Art University's Graduate School of Art and Design in 2011. She has since presented her unique world through numerous group and solo exhibitions, establishing herself as an artist with great potential for future success.

The exhibition features large-scale oil and acrylic paintings where decorative patterns symbolize eternal desire, and the incorporation of fashion's symbolic meanings creates a layered expansion of imagery. An opening reception will also be held on the first day, Friday, May 24th, starting at 7:00 PM.

The women in Okubo's works, depicted in various poses, are simultaneously representations of the artist herself and projections of our own selves. Surrounded by opulent flowers and textiles, what do these women, whose expressions remain hidden, feel and think? Okubo shares, "I aim to depict a dreamlike world, a world that people consider ideal."
