An exhibition by Tom Everhart, the sole artist authorized to depict the characters of "Peanuts," will be held in two cities, Tokyo and Fukuoka, during Golden Week. Everhart was born in Washington, USA, in 1952. He studied painting at Yale University and worked as a landscape artist in the US throughout the 1970s and 80s. A 1982 advertising project led him to begin drawing "Peanuts" characters. Although he temporarily paused his artistic activities due to illness in 1988-89, he made a miraculous recovery and held his first solo exhibition, "Snoopy 40th Anniversary Exhibition," at the Louvre Museum in Paris in 1990. Furthermore, Everhart has an official contract with the late Schulz, the original creator of "Peanuts," stating that "Tom Everhart alone may freely express the 'Peanuts' characters as art from now on."
