Works Created with Sincere Feelings
Yasumichi Morita, representative of the design office "GLAMOROUS", has designed commercial facilities, hotels, and restaurants worldwide, including the renovation of Isetan Shinjuku Main Store, which grand-opened in March, and "H Hotel" in Hong Kong. He also established "code" in 2011, which handles product design, showcasing his diverse talents.
This solo exhibition features works presented not as a "designer" but as an "artist." At the venue, visitors will find pieces that Morita created "with sincere feelings for what he desired," alongside objects that are "commonplace and discarded," born from human desires. The space offers a glimpse into his unique perspective, his "omotenashi spirit," and his thoughts on society, exploring the differences and commonalities between design and art.
Morita's new frontier, where he combines two opposing values and develops them to find new roles. We invite you to step into a space adorned with brilliant materials, enhancing the intensity of both light and shadow.
