Exhibiting Diverse Works, Including Chairs and Buttons Rendered in Various Glazes
Ryota Aoki, who continues to research glazes, creates unprecedented ceramics using materials not typically found in pottery, such as gold, silver, and platinum. He actively collaborates with various fields including fashion, interiors, and design, establishing himself as a promising ceramic artist who conveys the new charm of ceramics.
This new exhibition at valveat 81, his first in three years, showcases a collection of buttons expressed in various glazes, alongside diverse ceramic pieces such as chairs and planters. Furthermore, he will present a new concept piece: a "handsome" deer, hunted, taxidermied, molded, and then rendered in ceramic, preserving the beauty of the "handsome deer" for 3,000 years while breathing new life into it.
As Aoki states, "This time, I will be unveiling many new works that you have never seen before." The "Possibility" – Ceramics Endure for 3,000 Years exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter his new endeavors. We invite you to experience these works, imbued with 3,000 years of life by Ryota Aoki.
