Takeo Yamada, a Tsugaru shamisen player, has performed with musicians across genres, including electronic music and noise, at music festivals both domestically and internationally. After a hiatus from music due to tendonitis, he began his career as a photographer in 2004. He has expanded his activities globally, participating in events like the "Printed Matter Art Book Fair New York" at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in 2010 and leading the publishing label "studio bluemoon tokyo."

This exhibition, 'TAKEO YAMADA | PARADISE LOST', is held to commemorate the release of Yamada's latest three-part photo collection, 'PARADISE LOST'. The venue displays landscapes from his hometown in eastern Hokkaido. Works ranging from large prints to smaller pieces are exhibited, depicting horses believed to be descendants of warhorses, abandoned houses bearing traces of human life, natural landscapes altered by human intervention, and the rugged, severe winter scenery of Shiretoko.

Additionally, a live performance by a music project that Yamada is involved in will be held on Saturday, March 30, starting at 8:00 PM.

Yamada approaches both artificial and organic subjects with the same gaze, capturing them as natural landscapes before pressing the shutter. How does he confront his subjects as a photographer?──We invite you to visit the exhibition to discover the answer.
