After graduating from Kuwasawa Design School's Living Design Department, Ryu Tamagawa worked at a design firm as a graphic designer. He then moved to France, and upon returning to Japan in 1994, he established himself as a fashion photographer, known for capturing 'serene beauty' and gaining significant popularity and acclaim in numerous magazines and advertisements.

This exhibition features 24 newly created works, produced between last year and this year, without any retouching, manipulation, or compositing using image editing software. The photographs capture the three 'nens'—the 'inevitability' of direction, the 'chance' that can only be captured in a specific moment, and the 'nature' of things as they are.

The photographer's stance of capturing anonymous subjects within the frame paradoxically highlights their individuality, creating a disquieting beauty within the serene, square spaces. This is an opportunity to experience a different facet of Ryu Tamagawa's artistry, distinct from his advertising and artist portrait work.
