The 'LIFE Kazumasa Nagai Poster Exhibition' Featuring Flora and Fauna
The 'LIFE Kazumasa Nagai Poster Exhibition,' showcasing poster works themed around 'LIFE' by Kazumasa Nagai, a leading figure in Japanese graphic design for over half a century, will be held at Ginza Graphic Gallery (ggg) from Wednesday, March 6th to Saturday, March 30th.

Gallery Talk with Son and Art Director Kazufumi Nagai
Kazumasa Nagai, a preeminent graphic designer in Japan who has pioneered a fresh expressive world, is the subject of the 'LIFE Kazumasa Nagai Poster Exhibition.' This exhibition was realized following the donation of approximately 4,000 representative works, primarily posters and prints, to the DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion, which operates ggg.
The 'LIFE' series of posters, which forms a part of the donated works, began in the late 1980s as Nagai's life's work. These posters, featuring motifs of flora, fauna, and imaginary creatures, have evolved dramatically from abstract to figurative and continue to the present day. Through these works, born of vibrant creativity, one can sense a powerful message about irreplaceable life and nature, along with an overflowing vitality.
The venue will feature a curated selection of 139 posters drawn with such a gentle gaze. Additionally, on the opening day, March 6th (Wednesday), from 4:00 PM, a gallery talk will be held with Kazumasa Nagai and his son, Kazufumi Nagai, who is also a designer and art director.
