Confronting Square Works Enlarged to 1.5 Meters

Regarding the current exhibition "Yumemigusa," Iida states, "For the people of Japan, the cherry blossoms of 2011 held a special significance. These photographs are of cherry branches, taken between March 15th and April 3rd, 2011, just before the blossoms fully opened. The title, 'Yumemigusa,' is apparently an old name for cherry blossoms." The works possess a sharp cropping reminiscent of Japanese paintings, particularly the Rinpa school, which is captivating. Combined with their scale, they exude a unique presence.

Born in Tokyo in 1961. Graduated from Tokyo Polytechnic University, Department of Photography in 1983. After working at Eiwa Studio, he apprenticed under Hiroyuki Yakumaki.
