Do Ho Suh | Perfect Home
The exhibition "Do Ho Suh | Perfect Home," by contemporary artist Do Ho Suh, a leading figure in Asia, is being held at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, until Sunday, March 17. The exhibition features new works, among others, centered on the theme of "home."

Featuring the "Fabric Architecture" Series
Do Ho Suh was born in South Korea in 1962. After graduating from Seoul National University, he moved to the United States to study painting and sculpture. His delicate and refined works, which re-examine the friction and conflict with cultures of other countries experienced while living as a minority, have earned him high international acclaim. He is currently based in London, New York, and Seoul. In Japan, his 2005 exhibition at Maison Hermès and last year's "Do Ho Suh in between" exhibition at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art are still fresh in memory.
This exhibition, themed around "home," showcases new works specifically created for the space of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. Notably, the "Fabric Architecture" series, born from the concept of "transporting space in a suitcase," is crafted from translucent, lightweight fabric. These pieces recreate entire homes the artist has lived in, as well as boundaries that separate interior and exterior, or public and private, such as staircases, corridors, and gates.

Additionally, during the exhibition period, various events will be held, including an artist talk on Friday, February 8th from 6:00 PM, lectures, a kids' studio program, and guided gallery tours by curators.
For Do Ho Suh, who is constantly moving across the globe, "home" is his very identity. The "home," originally his personal space, takes on new meanings through the people and environments it encounters when placed in public locations, and it moves on to the next place while embracing diverse interpretations. Visiting the "homes" he presents, one can contemplate identity and individuality.
