Kenshu Niitsu Solo Exhibition "\Scenery+"
An exhibition titled "\Scenery+" by Kenshu Niitsu, a photographer who also creates video and field recordings, will be held at Hillside Forum in Daikanyama from December 18 (Tuesday) to January 14 (Monday, holiday). The exhibition will feature works he has created as his life's work, targeting icons and information on laptops and networks.

Talk & Presentation "An Attempt to Describe Scenery" Also to Be Held
Kenshu Niitsu is known for his works that delve into the "folds of memory" that unconsciously float and accumulate, slipping through the boundaries of real and data spaces, and the individual and the public. The exhibition "\Scenery+" is being held to commemorate the publication of his photobook "\Scenery," created against the backdrop of his archival exploration spanning approximately 10 years.
Niitsu states, "There is much that photographs do not capture. Isn't the essence of scenery in these 'unseen things'?" He explains that the venue will display "scenery" that has emerged from the flow of vast amounts of information, which has now become like a second natural environment, including works where most of the artwork is covered in gray, resembling a situation seen on a computer.
Additionally, a talk and presentation titled "An Attempt to Describe Scenery," related to this solo exhibition, will be held on December 19 (Wednesday). Participants will include Dominic Cheang, co-founder of DUAL, which aims to promote the appropriate reuse of copyrighted works, Teiya Iwabuchi, editor-in-chief of "Bijutsu Techo," and Kenshu Niitsu.
This exhibition, which can be considered a culmination of Niitsu's work, continuously frames things like "nature" and "information" that have no beginning or end. We encourage you to step into his unique photographic world.
