Commemorating the Release of the First Photobook: "Unseen Cacti and Succulents"

Qusamura, a plant shop in Hiroshima, is known for treating each unique plant, personally gathered by owner Kohei Oda from his travels both domestically and abroad, as a "one-of-a-kind" piece, presented in vessels that highlight its individual characteristics.

The exhibition "Qusamura temporary shop at limArt vol.2 - Plants, Too, Have Their Own Era of Individuality -" celebrates the upcoming publication in January 2013 of Qusamura's first photobook, "Unseen Cacti and Succulents," which features 81 meticulously selected plants and their detailed descriptions, all chosen with Qusamura's distinct aesthetic sensibility.

The venue will showcase a total of 250 plants, including those featured in the photobook. Among them will be specimens that have become living sculptures through their unique aging process, large plants making their debut, and collaborative works with pots created by eight ceramic artists specifically for Qusamura. Visitors will be able to purchase exhibited items, and the photobook will be available for special advance sale during the exhibition period.

What matters is not whether a plant is "beautifully arranged," but whether it has "great character." This exhibition captures the essence of Qusamura's current vision, which proposes a new value for plants. We hope to encounter a diverse array of plants with strong presences and discover new charms of the plant world that we have yet to perceive.
