Ikebana Arrangements: A Beautiful Balance of Tradition and Freedom

Plantica, while mindful of the 600-year tradition of ikebana, pursues the question of 'how to sublimate plants as organic matter into art.' Known for their free activities that transcend the boundaries of ikebana, such as seeking expression in the streets and creating products, their unique worldview captivates viewers across borders.

Their expression is completely unrestricted, beyond the theme of 'plants.' Sometimes, even flowers printed on fabric become their floral materials. They create art brimming with vitality using all phenomena related to plants.

The venue showcases a collection of ikebana arrangements, which can be described as 'installations,' created with a beautiful balance of tradition and freedom. They present spontaneous expressions that involve a series of small decisions, with no possibility of turning back.

Their works, as they say, aim to 'layer new elements onto the traditional flow of ikebana.' While they may seem detached from tradition, their pursuit of 'freedom' can be seen as the very essence of ikebana.
