A New Facet to My Sculpted Landscapes
When I think about evoking a forest, I used to believe that shaping trees would lead to the image of a forest. However, I've come to think that whether it's the branches of a tree, a single leaf, or a small bird perched on a twig, viewers will imagine a forest. I feel that this exhibition has allowed me to add a new facet to my sculpted landscapes.
In addition to object works like those pictured, the exhibition features new lighting pieces from his ongoing series, as well as the "koppalphabet" series, where he forms alphabets from wood scraps from his daily practice.
At krank / marcello, the exhibitions always feel like wandering through a pop-up book. Please explore the space, searching for the source of the light and the identity of the shadow play.
We understand some of you may be coming from afar, but we would be delighted if you could visit if you have the opportunity.──YUTA NISHIURA
