Cynthia Rowley's Online Art Store Makes its Debut in Japan
Exhibition A, a members-only online art store operated by Bill Powers, owner of New York's Half Gallery, and his wife, fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, is set to launch in Japan this autumn. To commemorate the occasion, a pop-up store will be held from Wednesday, October 17th to Wednesday, October 31st at VACANT, an art and cafe space in Harajuku.

Enjoy Contemporary Art Through Unique Curation
Launched in 2010, EXHIBITION A aims to cultivate a new generation of art buyers and make contemporary art more accessible by offering works by artists affiliated with top global galleries at affordable prices.
The store adds works by artists ranging from emerging talents to established masters, selected through its unique curation, to its website weekly. With prices starting at $100 USD, it proposes a way to enjoy art as part of your interior decor. All works are sold in limited quantities without resale, and come with the artist's autograph or a certificate of authenticity.
To celebrate Exhibition A's arrival in Japan, a pop-up store, which has previously been held with great success at New York's Gagosian Shop and Barneys New York, and Paris's Colette, will open at VACANT. Works by eight artists, personally selected by Bill Powers, will be exhibited and sold for a limited two-week period.
The featured artists include Mark Gonzales, a pro skateboarder and a key figure in the street art scene; Kim Gordon, known for her work as Sonic Youth's guitarist and her highly impactful pieces; photographer Peter Sutherland; and seven other artists currently drawing significant attention in the contemporary art world, their works gathered together in one place.
Furthermore, Bill Powers will visit Japan for the opening on Wednesday, October 17th. A limited domestic edition of his art novel, "What We Lose in Flowers," will also be available, along with a signing event.
This pop-up shop offers contemporary art that can be enjoyed with the casual mindset of "buying art while grabbing a coffee." We encourage you to find your favorite piece.
