The "Aoyama Art Fair 2012" returns this year. As part of the event, "Kama-Bo-Ko," where 23 creators explore the possibilities of kamaboko, will be held from Monday, October 29th to Sunday, November 4th at the Aoyama Art Fair venue in Kita-Aoyama.

Works Inspired by the "Mystery" of Kamaboko on Display

The "Aoyama Art Fair" invites visitors to explore art while enjoying the Harajuku, Omotesando, and Aoyama areas. Since its inception in 2007 along the "Aoyama Dori" connecting Aoyama Dori and Omotesando, it has become an annual event attracting many visitors as an art fair with "low barriers to entry" and "high quality."

23 Creators Design Their Own Unique Kamaboko

One of the featured events is "Kama-Bo-Ko." Kamaboko, while a processed food used in many dishes, is not a staple like rice. It is a food, yet it embodies the craftsmanship and traditional techniques of artisans, carrying a sense of artistry. Inspired by this "mystery" of its existence, 23 creators have produced works with the cooperation of the long-established Suzukama Kamaboko.

Additionally, on Wednesday, October 31st, "Kamaboko Night" will be held, featuring a talk session with artisans and creators, and catering using "kamaboko." Each kamaboko is original and elaborately designed. We highly recommend experiencing firsthand how kamaboko and art intertwine.
