Mick Rock Talk Show Also Scheduled

Mick Rock has photographed artists from the representative rock and punk scenes of the 70s, including Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Queen, Debbie Harry, Sex Pistols, and The Ramones. His 2015 photography book, “The Rise of David Bowie 1972-1973” (TASCHEN), made history as TASCHEN's fastest-selling limited edition publication, with signed copies by Bowie and Rock himself.

Rock continues to be an active photographer, receiving requests from music icons across a wide range of genres, not limited to rock, such as Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, and Daft Punk.

This exhibition, the first in Japan to focus on David Bowie's work, will showcase approximately 50 pieces, including many previously unreleased works alongside Mick Rock's familiar iconic images. All works are available for purchase in custom sizes.

Regarding the exhibition, he shared his thoughts and joy for the event: “I am very happy to be back in Japan after 10 years. In 2007, I collaborated with my friend, the great Kabuki master Kanzaburo Nakamura, on a photo book and exhibition called ‘Tamashii.’ Most of the photos shown in this exhibition are being shown in Japan for the first time, and more than half are world premieres. I can’t wait to return to Tokyo, my favorite city!”

On the evening of Monday, March 13th, Mick Rock himself will be in Japan for a talk show. What will “the man who shot the 70s” have to say? Alongside the exhibition, this is not to be missed.

Additionally, a talk event with Yoichiro Yamazaki, editor-in-chief of Rockin'on, will be held at the same venue on March 3rd. Don't miss this either.
