MIHARAYASUHIRO Presents "Ophelia has a Dream"
MIHARAYASUHIRO's installation "Ophelia has a Dream," presented during Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 at the Carrousel du Louvre beneath the Louvre Museum in October 2011, is finally making its much-anticipated debut in Japan. The exhibition will be held on Saturday, September 8th, and Sunday, September 9th, at Spiral Garden in Aoyama, Tokyo.

Experience a World Through Interactive Visuals
For his 2012 Spring/Summer collection, MIHARAYASUHIRO created a concept movie that merged film, fashion, music, and contemporary art spatial design, inspired by John Everett Millais's iconic painting "Ophelia." Through interactive visuals, the installation allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the artwork.
Framed as if a painting, the work is also a narrative film. Upon entering the exhibition space, shadows of petals appear from one's own shadow cast on the floor. These shadows flutter and take flight into the painting. The wind rustles, plants sway, and the water's surface ripples gently. Then, Ophelia sheds a tear and vanishes into a dazzling light.
This piece, a collaboration between the visual production group WOW and MIHARAYASUHIRO, marks the first fusion of art and fashion. The renowned fashion photographer Paolo Roversi was commissioned for the visuals. Clad in MIHARAYASUHIRO's designs, a modern Ophelia is recreated in Roversi's poetic photography, mirroring the world of the original painting.
What emotions will this work, transcending time and genre, evoke in its audience? This highly anticipated exhibition is sure to set a new benchmark for artists and creators alike.
