Works showcasing a free and brilliant sensibility that hints at the expanding possibilities of ceramic expression

Kuwata states, "I want to create bright and joyful pieces that utilize the characteristics of the material." His works, with their vivid colors that defy belief as ceramic art at first glance, possess a powerful yet approachable form, adding a delightful splash of color to everyday life.


This exhibition, presented by ROKU, features approximately 50 dynamic works, including lustrous golden vessels and teacups with bold gold and platinum glazes on the porcelain rims. These ceramic pieces, born from the fusion of traditional techniques, materials, and sharp sensibility, are a must-see.


Takuro Kuwata

Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1981. He has held solo exhibitions at Koyoma Tomio Gallery, Ginza Kuroda Touan, Gallery Suki (Aichi), and Liberal Art JPN (Hiroshima), among others. His acclaim extends beyond Japan, participating in TALENTE2008 in Munich, Germany (2008), the "Korea-Japan-US Young Artists Exchange Exhibition" (2009) in Korea, and "Paul Clay" at Salon 94 Bowery in New York, continuing his extensive international activities.

He is also active as a member of "IKEYAN," an organization of young ceramic artists formed around Ryota Aoki.
