The North Face Standard Opens New Store in Kyoto
On Saturday, January 30th, The North Face Standard Kyoto store opened in Kyoto, a city rich in history and seasonal beauty. This marks the third "Standard" location, following Harajuku and Futako-Tamagawa, and is the brand's first street-level shop.

Proposing a Fusion of Function and Design
The Kyoto store, with its concept of "STANDARD OF LIVING PACKAGE," offers a total coordination of The North Face as a tool to connect urban and natural environments.
For users who enjoy outdoor lifestyles while maintaining their base in the city, the store presents not only items that blend function and design but also directs the entire spatial experience. The aim is to foster the next generation of "holistic outdoor style."
The store spans three floors. The first and second floors feature a wide selection of apparel and gear for men and women, as well as items for enjoying travel, all designed for both style and function. The third floor houses a gallery space for regular art events and workshops.

To commemorate the opening, the gallery space on the third floor will host "STILLSCAPE document," a collaborative exhibition by artist Tetsuya Nagato and photographer Taro Mizutani.
With "document" as its theme, the exhibition showcases photographs and three-dimensional works that capture fragments and cross-sections of objects and landscapes through the artists' unique perspectives. The works, based on various techniques such as folding, rubbing, carving, and shooting, are presented as empirical documentation.
