A New Series of Works Created by Detaching the Self

Sayo Nagase's work captivates viewers with its unique atmosphere. Even in her pieces, which exude a soft nuance, there is an underlying sense of strength that remains consistent across various media and subjects. It also seems to reflect her unwavering pursuit of something, her very way of life.

The "Water Tower" exhibition will feature approximately 20 works that explore connections and relationships with others in the world around us, presented from a fresh perspective.

Nagase has previously stated, "When creating my work, I used to empathize with the subject and project myself into it." However, she notes that about two years ago, "attachment to myself naturally faded, and I began to detach myself from my work." This exhibition showcases a body of work created from this new artistic standpoint.
