203gow, a knitter who founded the art collective “Knit Ambush” that transforms urban spaces, has gained attention for unique activities such as wrapping handrails, streetlights, and monuments in knitwear.

Upon seeing photos of these activities, the professor offered, “Please, perform a knit ambush at the A PROJECT OF TAEKO ONUKI & RYUICHI SAKAMOTO “UTAU” TOUR 2010 as well!” This offer led to the realization of the work featured here. Beyond the magnificent, unique forms, it’s also delightful to find the faces of the professor and Taeko Onuki hidden in various places.

Indeed, the label “commmons” has also released charming products with an approach that overturns the concept of “amigurumi” (crocheted stuffed toys).
