John Lurie: What does he express when he trades his instrument for a brush?
Sunday nights, a moment of pure bliss for adults, with your own time flowing gently alongside exquisite music. Delivering such a rich experience is DJToshio Matsuura's radio program, TOKYO MOON.──Each Sunday, he broadcasts carefully selected music from around the world and topics that stimulate intellectual curiosity for adults, from 7 PM on Inter FM 76.1MHz. Here, Toshio Matsuura himself presents the program as it airs each week. So, what has he picked out this time?

Urban and masculine tracks selected!
In contrast to the previous week, I've chosen urban and masculine tracks. Though not yet officially released, we'll play music from Gonjasufi, a talented artist from LA with a mysterious and smoky voice, and John Lurie (The Lounge Lizards), who established his unique presence as a musician and actor in the 80s, along with tracks by Tom Waits.
REVIEW|TRACK LIST
01. Gonjasufi / Ancestors
02. Spacek / Eve
03. The Embassadors / Iboga Dreamtime
04. The Lounge Lizards / Harlem Nocturne
05. Tom Waits / Swordfishtrombone
06. Chris Bowden / Beautiful Nasty

John Lurie of The Lounge Lizards, whose music was featured, had to suspend his music and acting activities in the 90s due to a serious illness. He then chose drawing, which he had been doing for some time, as his sole means of expression, and his talent blossomed.
His solo exhibition begins at the Watarium Museum at the end of this month. What will he express now that he has traded his instrument for a brush? It's an exhibition I'm eagerly anticipating.
