Mammoth Pow-Wow is an outdoor event organized by Mammoth School, a project exploring new educational standards through media and workshops.
The word "pow-wow" is Native American for a gathering of people on a special occasion. Every year, the campsite at the foot of Mt. Fuji in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture, hosts a variety of programs including live music, workshops, and outdoor activities.
This year, the 7th iteration of the festival, featured performances by Eric Jacobsen, who is immensely popular with children, Ooh-Amo (Yuichi Ohata + Miya Sakamoto), and the debut performance of HIFANA, electrifying the crowd.
In addition to outdoor programs like mountain biking and lake kayaking experiences amidst nature, and morning yoga, there were also workshops offered by 22 companies and brands, including The North Face, Patagonia, Converse, and Stüssy.
Furthermore, this year's food offerings were enhanced with a collaboration shop by food coordinator Kurumi Arimoto and the bagel and muffin shop "TRE FLIP." It was a two-day event that fully satisfied the minds and bodies of the approximately 1,500 attendees. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9th and Sunday, May 10th.
