"NEW WORKER" Part 2: Nakado Ranch

To Morioka by Shinkansen, then about three hours by car. Midway,

a rest stop by a lake, deep in a birch forest, marked by a sign for the coldest place in Japan?

Looking back, perhaps it was the fatigue from the interview that made the two hours on the return Shinkansen,
where I could barely move in the cramped seats, and the three hours traveling while admiring the beautiful autumn leaves,

which cannot be experienced in the city, or even here, now,
feel so profound. Hmm? So, enjoyable times pass quickly.

The meaning of time is clear. Hmm? So, enjoyable times pass quickly.

My first impression: humans are animals.

Perhaps we lose more than we realize by forgetting this fact.

To elaborate, to live is to move. When you move, you get hungry, so you eat.

When you eat, you excrete. And when humans are full, they feel good and sleep.

Therefore, those whose cycles are not functioning properly become ill.

For example, marbled beef with marbling might be delicious when eaten, but
it's essentially transforming the animal into an ingredient, rather than its natural state. Apparently, the internal organs of such cattle, treated to be delicious, become breeding grounds for disease.
The deliciousness comes from excess fat. Eating such things daily because they are tasty is not something the human body is designed to handle in excess. In other words,

if we consider the fundamental truth that we are made of what we eat, both humans and animals,
it is only natural that if you consume what makes you sick, calling it delicious, you yourself will become sick.

Masashi Nakado, who advocates for mountain pasture dairy farming, stated these points bluntly while drinking his Daikagoro with gusto.

And the essence of dairy farming is milk production. But what is milk, fundamentally?

Milk is the breast milk that a mother cow gives to her newborn calf to help it grow.

It is a vital nutrient for the calf, which we humans selfishly take a little of.

To drink such a gift from the gods? every day

is a testament to how arrogant humans are. Okada-san of AT-LINK, a joint manager of Nakado Ranch,

shared this perspective.

Consuming too many so-called delicacies, which are essentially nutrients,
actually moves us further away from a healthy body.

So, let's remember the principle that humans are animals.

Well, anyway, it's heartwarming to see so many animals.

Cows are actually very cute. Of course, some cows can be intimidating.

And, and, and, the energy emanating from the young people living with these cute cows

was overwhelming in its beauty. Their eyes sparkled.

The eyes of young cows also sparkle.

Newborn calves are as cute as fawns.

More on that tomorrow.
