There are women who engage in beautiful activities in quiet obscurity. One might say only those in the know are aware, but this is the kind of person who embodies dignified composure. http://temppress.blogspot.com/ I also introduced her in dictionary142. #ckpirate

I couldn't help but tweet about it on Twitter. There's a reason for that.
It's because I received an email from Yukiko Sawabe.
The presentation of the page I introduced in the latest issue of dictionary142 was, of course, wonderful, but her HP is also very impressive, as shown below.

The following is a reproduction of the email.

I received Dictionary Issue 142.
It turned out wonderfully; thank you very much.

On this page, I plan to write about letterpress printing at my own pace.
The photographs can be viewed in color on the web.
You can listen to the audio in mp3 format on the page, so please try listening while referring to the sheet music in Dictionary.

I also briefly reflected on the past, present, and future of New Balance below.
Seeing the printed page with the copy, I understood why it had three colored stripes.
I find it strange that this was purely a coincidence.

Yukiko Sawabe

And so it is. I also participated in a letterpress printing workshop organized by Ms. Sawabe, and it reawakened my fascination with printing with movable type.

Having been printing a free paper for over twenty-three years, it's not that I hadn't noticed the beauty of type, but I wouldn't have been so deeply moved by the existence of letterpress printing, a world with the warmth of handwriting, had I not participated in the workshop.

We each have our roles, so I likely won't be engaging in missionary work for letterpress printing, but if one were to leave a will, letterpress would be ideal. Such a morbid thought just crossed my mind. I suppose I won't actually do it.

To live surrounded by things that fascinate us to the point of tweeting about them, within the scope of our own existence, if not the entire world, is the greatest purpose in life, isn't it? Or should I just be a silly, fawning person? (おべたぶりすんべか~)
