The day turned to cold rain.

Where do we find the essence of craftsmanship?
In the digital age, why do we need to print and convey messages on paper?
In the daily battle of commerce, where appeal and immediate sales are constantly questioned, am I even alright to be musing on such a leisurely question? I understand, completely. But if we resist that urge and consider how culture has been built over a long history? Let's think about craftsmanship with a hundred-year perspective. The theme is indeed grand, but isn't it simply about not creating waste? If we were to create things that would be thrown in the trash the moment they are seen, then we should indeed be using digital means. However, the robustness of the printed materials sent from Comme des Garçons is extraordinary. This stubborn, strong stance is something that can only be achieved with a philosophy that looks to the future of the company with a hundred-year perspective. As I write this, I tell myself, 'Yes, that's right.'
In other words, instead of measuring work by whether it's profitable or not – I'm making excuses again, aren't I? – can people work with a rich spirit, in good times and bad? This boils down to whether one is engaged in work with a philosophy behind it. That was the story.

Speaking of which, I've interviewed over ten people yesterday and today, and I'm greatly encouraged by how many genuinely listen to my excuses.
Who will board the ship to transition from methodologies we've used until now to those we haven't been able to implement?
I want to live freely. I want to do work that is true to myself. I want to enjoy a delicious drink after it's all done. I completely agree. My recent theme is also 'modest desire, sufficient contentment' – exerting 120% of my strength, yet desiring to live with '40%'. Living at the root, the joy of existence. Without considering happiness or unhappiness. Simply working with a pure heart. Well, as I write this, it's all just talk. I wish that one day, when I've forgotten all about these words and thoughts, I might encounter myself working with a pure heart.

Speaking of which, this kind of work appeared in the Dictionary Club.

Does anyone know anything about this?
