The 50th Edition of Our Cutting-Edge Compilation Series

From SHUYA OKINO of KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE, a DJ, the world's only record critic, and a leading figure in sound branding that transforms spaces through music,Shuya Okinodelivers his monthly compilation, now celebrating its 50th release!
Over the past four years and two months, we have introduced a total of 500 tracks spanning genres such as jazz, soul, funk, boogie, house, Afro, Brazilian, rock, Latin, techno, R&B, and hip-hop. This milestone is a testament to the warm support from our OPENERS readers. The cumulative number of views is immense, reinforcing the importance of consistency.
This time, to commemorate both the 50th installment of our monthly compilation and the upcoming TOKYO CROSSOVER/JAZZ FESTIVAL 2012 (TCJF) official compilation, we've created a "50/50" split: half featuring artists related to the festival, and the other half my recent favorites.
The former includes a new remix from JAZZANOVA, DJ KAWASAKI's new single featuring N'DEA DAVENPORT, and my own modern boogie track also featuring Davenport. Additionally, we've included a new track from TCJF debutants MOUNTAIN MOCHA KILIMANJARO and a hidden gem from headliner CARLOS GARNETT.
The latter boasts a lineup of killer tunes, such as RAINER TRUBY's highly anticipated new remix, SUNLIGHT SQUARE's salsa cover of DON BLACKMAN, and THE RONGETS FOUNDATION's new single featuring the acclaimed vocalist GREGORY PORTER.
This playlist, which seamlessly blends cutting-edge deep house with straight-ahead jazz from masters, represents a concentrated selection of my abilities as a creator, producer, and curator. I look forward to continuing to discover borderless and timeless music. Thank you for your continued support.
