Diary-T 181 RUST

I was utterly surprised to find that Mr. Y of K, whom I consider myself a devoted follower of, was helping out when I visited after a year's absence.
Fortunately, I was able to take my time admiring the men's collection in the separate room, which I had hesitated to do last time.
Rust offers a world that antique lovers can't resist, but
for now, I'll just look.
Permission to photograph was granted, so... I snapped a shot of my favorite glass pieces!

Insects are outside my realm of expertise, but this was so magnificent that

I wonder why I am so drawn to old things.
The Yanagi Muneyoshi Folk Art Museum nearby is a prime example, and I felt the exhilaration of encountering a treasure trove. So,
unlike living beings, antiques don't have blood running through them, so as long as they aren't destroyed, they can exist eternally, whether for a hundred or two hundred years.
As these things that exist forever gradually deteriorate and change shape over long periods,
in other words, becoming more beautiful with the passage of time,
perhaps I am drawn to the concept of eternity,
but living a finite life, am I drawn to the eternity that antiques possess?
Come to think of it, except for those with very particular tastes, I find it hard to feel affection for people who have lived a very long time,
in the same way one might for antiques. Perhaps, just perhaps, I might feel a similar obsession towards people without 'blood,' those described as cold-blooded, but that's unlikely, isn't it?
When circulation slows in daily life, even one's thoughts can become sluggish, so beware, myself.
I sometimes think it might be interesting to enclose a small work by an iphonegrapher within this very old silver case, and sometimes I don't.
Ah, time is fleeting. A momentary dream, no, perhaps not...

As I dug through the sand in a sand dune with my fingers, I found a rusted knife.
I like things that are rusted.
Perhaps 'sabi' in 'wabi-sabi' is related to RUST, isn't it?
Ah, I see.
'Sabishii' can mean both lonely and rusted.
