A French Osechi for a Different New Year's Day!
en.terrible is a renowned establishment owned by Kenichi Mori, who was involved in the restaurant business at Dine's Table before establishing the catering business Grove Dish upon going independent. While offering authentic bistro fare, its reasonable prices draw crowds daily.
They began selling osechi last year, which also proved to be very popular. This year's offering consists of the following three tiers.
The 'First Tier' contains nine cold appetizers: Red Pepper Mousse with Sea Urchin, Marinated Yellowtail and Root Vegetables, Foie Gras Marinated in Soy Sauce with Simmered Turnip, Boudin Noir with Apple Compote and Red Wine Jelly, Smoked Quail Thigh, Grilled Angel Prawn from New Caledonia with Fruit Tomato Farci and Sweet Shrimp, Herring Roe and Salmon Roe with Lemon Flavor, and Country-Style Pâté.
The 'Second Tier' features four warm appetizers: Daisen Chicken 'Préservé' with Marchand de Vin Butter, Escargots Bourguignonne, Braised Japanese Beef Cheek in Red Wine, and Blanquette de Veau with Mashed Potatoes.
The 'Third Tier' comprises main dishes crafted from ingredients carefully selected by the chef. It includes Roast Beef of Hokkaido Tokachi Herb Beef, Crab Miso Bagnar Cauda Sauce, Smoked Seasonal Vegetables and Camembert Cheese, Grilled Black Abalone from Tasmania, Grilled Whelk, Grilled King Crab and Scallops from Hokkaido, Smoked Tasmanian Trout, Osetra Caviar, and Truffle Omelette.
