Crafted with meticulous care, each piece is made with dedication.
This is the fashion show by Eatable of Many Orders.
In an era where the demands on fashion are changing dramatically,
perhaps this new endeavor represents another role for fashion to pursue...
As one reflects on the prosperity and decline of Atami, a city that boomed by creating an extraordinary atmosphere under the guise of entertaining laborers who bore the brunt of post-war reconstruction, and as one tries to properly grasp the current state of Atami in Japan today,
the gap between that and the gentle mood of this event at Kiunkaku left my mind,
as clear as the sunny weather that had replaced last night's gloom.
Let's revitalize this declining town. Let's promote culture.
Such high-minded calls can be heard from beyond the steam.
The young mayor, wearing a name tag clearly marked "Mayor," ambled across the lawn of Kiunkaku,
earnestly pressing his shutter button, eager to document the event. His earnestness was touching.
Perhaps, behind the scenes, events akin to those in a Robert Altman film were unfolding.
Come to think of it, it was a bolt from the blue that Kiunkaku was linked to the Nezu Museum in Minami-Aoyama, my favorite spot. But how did the arriving tourists perceive this fashion show, an event of rare and exquisite beauty?
I'm not sure if this should be called "HI fashion" – not in a negative sense, but I genuinely don't know.
I was truly able to recognize that creators pursuing true beauty exist and are making their voices heard here in Atami.
And while it's delightful to appreciate the decaying beauty of the past...
Local governments in Japan, and Atami in particular, like Yokohama,
have finally managed to embrace a fashion culture that Japan can be proud of. I sincerely wish to celebrate this moment.
Still, it was a luxurious time.
To have witnessed such a high-caliber fashion show.
To have spent a relaxing time lying on the grass under the warm, sunny sky.
Truly, I am grateful for life.

A painting of flowers arrived.

A painting says nothing, yet it holds the aura of the artist.
It seems the aura in my workspace has also begun to shift, subtly different from yesterday.
Similarly, the autumn leaves I see from the window, though appearing the same, are quite different from last year.
Being able to enjoy those subtle differences with a gentle gaze is the key to savoring today.
Take action. Delight awaits. Probably.
