Three Iconic Figures Embody the Timeless Appeal of the Handbag
The new advertising campaign, "3 Girls 3 Bags," centers on three iconic Chanel bags: the "11.12," the "Boy Chanel," and the latest "Chanel Girl." By casting three women with distinct personalities, the campaign highlights the multifaceted charm of Chanel.
Kristen Stewart, who also modeled for the 2013/14 Paris-Dallas Métiers d'Art collection, fronts the "11.12" handbag, characterized by its symbolic double C clasp.
In the visual, she appears in a classic silk crepe suit, paired with a T-shirt underneath her jacket and the "11.12" bag draped over her shoulder. The bag is crafted from lambskin with chevron (herringbone) quilting, a stitch originally used by Mademoiselle Chanel in the 1960s and reinterpreted by Karl Lagerfeld over the years. "For me, this handbag is the essence of Chanel, both basic and modern," Karl Lagerfeld stated.
Vanessa Paradis, a true Chanel ambassador who has appeared in various campaigns since her role in the "Coco" fragrance advertisement in 1991, represents the new "Chanel Girl" bag.
Pictured with a pearl necklace against her bare skin, Vanessa is adorned only by the lambskin "Chanel Girl" bag, highlighting her unconventional, natural beauty. "I love how it feels incredibly soft and harmonizes with both clothing and skin," Paradis shared about the bag's appeal.
Alice Dellal continues her role for the "Boy Chanel" bag, having featured in every advertising campaign since its launch. Embracing the masculine/feminine sensibility that Mademoiselle Chanel infused into the design, Dellal is photographed in a voluminous suede shirt and the "Boy Chanel" bag, a patchwork of denim. "I like wearing it crossbody. It's inspired by a hunter's ammunition bag, so it's the right way to wear it. It's the only bag I can wear with casual outfits without hesitation," she commented.
