Delvaux's Gradient Bag: A Modern Masterpiece
Delvaux, the Belgian brand founded in 1829, opened a boutique in the Palais Royal to unveil its 2015 Spring/Summer collection. The Brillant, an icon bag crafted since the brand's inception, is now finished in a stunning, feather-light gradient. Casual shoulder bags have also seen a significant increase in variety. Their flagship store in Omotesando is now stocked with spring colors like yellow and pink.
Roger Vivier's Limited Edition Special Order Bag
Roger Vivier is awash in vivid colors. The bi-color, tri-color, and pop-colored sandals are refreshingly new. While Roger Vivier might evoke a strong, structured image, both bags and shoes this season feature supple forms. Shoes inspired by 70s fashion include flat sandals and gladiator shoes crafted from lightweight materials. Gladiator sandals, which might suggest a powerful image, are rendered in delicate leather and suede weaves for a nude effect. Many feature slender designs that reach the ankle.
Furthermore, during the recent Haute Couture week in Paris, a special custom model of Roger Vivier's icon bag, the Miss Viv, was unveiled. Created from the inspiration of former model Inès de La Fressange, who also has many original works, it will be released in a limited quantity. The bag features embroidery and sequins on calfskin. An embroidered cherry blossom motif, inspired by Japan, is also featured. Its small size makes it suitable as a day bag. (Scheduled for release in stores around spring.)
