The handles retain the traditional Florentine artisan technique of heating and curving straight bamboo, while the natural material of the body infuses it with a modern sensibility.

This collection also introduces a mini size for the Bamboo Shopper. Its size, slightly larger than a party clutch, pairs beautifully with the pure and fresh cruise collection wear when fitted with a long shoulder strap. Without the strap, it offers an elegant presence suitable as a bag for traditional Japanese attire. Notably, the interior lacks dividers, perfectly accommodating a long wallet, demonstrating thoughtful consideration for usability. The material is a leather called "Cellarius," characterized by its uniform, beautiful grain, offering a luxurious feel while being resistant to scratches.

The two new Bamboo Shopper models trace their origins back to the 1940s. Born from the ingenuity of Florentine artisans who, amidst post-WWII material shortages, utilized bamboo imported from Japan. The original Gucci Bamboo Bag was a small handbag featuring a curved bamboo handle and a pigskin body. This iconic design, introduced in 1947, began its journey as a timeless icon created by artisans, and throughout the 1950s and 60s, it was cherished by numerous celebrities worldwide.
