The Horsebit: First Appearance in the 1950s
The horsebit motif first appeared in Gucci's history in a substantial tan leather handbag created in the 1950s. Featuring saddle stitching, it was inspired by the equestrian world, reflecting the trends of the Florentine aristocracy at the time.
An Icon Expressing Gucci's Sophisticated Worldview
Since then, it was adopted for the men's Horsebit loafers that debuted in 1953, and has since been incorporated into a wide variety of items. Even after more than 60 years, its popularity remains unchanged. The iconic horsebit has evolved into fine jewelry, infused with a modern sensibility, becoming an even more captivating presence.
Here, we would like to introduce some of the jewelry from the Horsebit Collection, which has such a rich background. The ring, crafted from white gold, features brilliant-cut diamonds in a pavé setting, its high transparency and radiance drawing you in with their captivating beauty. The bangle-style bracelet has diamonds set on the top of the arm, its simple design highlighting its exquisite beauty.
The Horsebit Enhances a Woman's Beauty
Designed as jewelry with an elegant presence, finished with a soft and delicate shape, the Horsebit embodies a modern nuance that matches various styles, while still conveying the history of Gucci, which spans over 90 years.
Among the lineup, the necklace with the horsebit motif adorning the pendant is particularly noteworthy for its delicate, feminine nuance. The elegantly rounded icon features a diamond set in the clasp, bringing elegance and radiance to the décolletage. The earrings simply express the horsebit in white gold and diamonds, their unadorned design beautifully accentuating a confident, mature woman.
Instantly recognizable as Gucci, yet elegant and luxurious. The Horsebit, as Gucci's signature icon, possesses an unwavering presence. Perhaps this is why, while exuding outward elegance, it also draws out the unknown beauty hidden within a woman.
