Dior presented its collection, titled "Esprit Dior Tokyo 2015," to the world via runway, a first for the maison. The chosen venue for this commemorative collection was Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan. The event brought together top global creators, including Artistic Director Raf Simons, models, and hair and makeup artists, for an electrifying night.

The runway show, titled "Esprit Dior," drew inspiration from "Tokyo"—a city that expands chaotically while embracing contradictions within its very chaos. The venue, Ryogoku Kokugikan, was transformed from its usual traditional Japanese ambiance into a futuristic space. Amidst a spectacle of pipes suspended from the ceiling and falling snow, models traversed the catwalk in a dynamic display.

The collection reflected Raf Simons's view of Tokyo: "Nowhere in the world do people dress with such freedom and in such diverse ways. It's about liberation from style, clothes with new structures. They appear not only on the streets but also in the history of fashion design in Tokyo. It's an intense and exhilarating place." This sentiment manifested in a new style born from the fusion of East and West, and the coexistence of fantasy and reality.

Sequins were used as a symbolic motif, adding a futuristic sparkle to warm items like Aran knitwear, thereby expressing the contrast between tradition and the future. Furthermore, the iconic "Lady Dior" bag was reimagined in both a striking large size and a decorative mini size, embodying Tokyo's "kawaii" aesthetic. The show was replete with Tokyo's essence, including makeup that gave models large, anime-like eyes.

The event was attended by numerous distinguished celebrities from Japan and abroad, including Mika Nakashima, Kiko Mizuhara, Koyuki, Rila Fukushima, Audrey Tautou, and Susie Lau. A party followed the show, concluding a highly exciting night. Additionally, Dior is hosting an exhibition tracing the maison's history, "ESPRIT DIOR - The World of Dior," in Ginza, Tokyo, until Sunday, January 4, 2015. We encourage you to visit and immerse yourself in the world of Dior.
