A shop evoking British essence

Burberry Omotesando features the latest design concept by Chief Creative and Executive Officer Christopher Bailey. The exterior is wrapped in the brand's signature Burberry check, exuding a rich sense of British tradition. Each floor, with off-white walls and beige flooring, is laid out with deep brown fixtures, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere.

The basement floor offers a full lineup of menswear, including suits and fashion items. The ground floor, leading to the entrance, carries a wide range of accessories such as bags, wallets, and scarves, as well as watches, eyewear, and fragrances. The second floor focuses on womenswear, showcasing the full range of Burberry Prorsum, Burberry London, Burberry Brit, and the brand's iconic trench coats. The top floor, similar to the London store, exclusively features Burberry Prorsum, allowing visitors to experience the collection's world in its entirety on a single level.

Each floor is equipped with LCD screens called 'Retail Theatre,' displaying videos of the Burberry Prorsum runway, the show venue, and the brand's history. While shopping, guests can immerse themselves in Burberry's modern interpretation of 'Britain.' Additionally, limited-edition items are available to celebrate the opening. Look out for the charming key charms inspired by British icons like Big Ben and the Guardsman.

To commemorate this, an opening event was held on the preceding day, Thursday, November 27th. British model Jourdan Dunn, who also appears on the Burberry Prorsum runway, served as host. Over 400 diverse guests, including actress Miwako Ichikawa and actor Asuka Kudo, gathered for the occasion. A DJ booth was set up on the ground floor, with DJ Mark Bartley from London energizing the atmosphere with his set.

—You're here in Japan for the first time to host the opening of the Burberry Omotesando store. Is this your first visit to Japan?

Yes, it is. I'm incredibly excited to be in Japan for the first time. I love Japanese culture, and everyone here is so kind and wonderful. I'm delighted to have met so many guests at the Burberry Omotesando opening event.

—As a British person, is Burberry a particularly special brand for you?

Burberry is an iconic brand that represents Britain and is known worldwide. It embodies British heritage. Of course, it's a special brand for me as a British person. I feel very honored to be able to work for a brand I love so much.

—Are you close with Christopher Bailey?

Christopher is truly kind and humble. He often approaches the models, checking in on us. He even cares about my son and me, and I think it's rare in the fashion industry to meet someone so humble and kind.

—You often walk the runway with your close friend Cara Delevingne. What's it like backstage?

It's always fun and energetic when I'm with Cara. Backstage at shows can be hectic, but Cara always brings a happy mood. As long as she's there, it's never boring (laughs).
