A Trilogy Captured by Three Renowned Photographers

Nicolas Ghesquière's First Advertising Campaign Unveiled

Shot at the Same Time, in Different Places

Titled "Series 1," the Autumn/Winter 2014-15 advertising campaign is conceived as a means to convey the designer's vision for the clothing and the collection. To share this multifaceted perspective, the esteemed photographers Annie Leibovitz, Juergen Teller, and Bruce Weber were chosen.

The three photographers embraced the challenge of bringing their distinct artistic styles into dialogue through the Autumn/Winter 2014-15 collection, resulting in a hybrid trilogy where their visions converge. It is noteworthy that this marks the first instance where renowned photographers have agreed to interpret the same subject matter.

The shoots took place simultaneously in disparate locations on the same day. Annie Leibovitz photographed Charlotte Gainsbourg amidst the artist studios of Ellsworth Kelly and Brice Marden, and at Storm King Art Center in New York.

Juergen Teller captured Freja Beha Erichsen at the Scandinavian Pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale in Venice. Bruce Weber, meanwhile, photographed Liya Kebede, Jean Campbell, and Kirstin Liljegren in Miami. The visuals are structured in a mise en abyme, an infinite unfolding where each focused image gives way to the next, creating a narrative.

Nicolas Ghesquière commented on the campaign: "I wanted to weave a story that had never been seen before, told by three photographers I deeply admire. They were the only ones who could accept the challenge of confronting each other and ultimately creating a single narrative. Their visual language is so powerful, it transcends all categories and definitions. I also wanted to pull them out of their comfort zones."
