Made to Measure Collection Debuts in Japan

Flagship Store "Gucci Aoyama" Reopens!

Gucci's flagship store in Aoyama, Tokyo, has been renovated. It reopened with a fresh look on Friday, May 30th. The reborn store features the Made to Measure capsule collection, a first for Japan. Additionally, it's already packed with news, including the launch of the "Lady Lock" handbags in an exclusive color for Gucci Aoyama and an exhibition of haute couture dresses.

Glass Facade Floods Open Space with Natural Light

The Gucci flagship store, overlooking the zelkova tree-lined avenue of Omotesando—beautiful with fresh greenery in spring and illuminations in winter—has been reborn. The glass-fronted entrance, where gold accents stand out against the inorganic stone exterior, now features a new LED display, its dynamic and powerful movies capturing the gaze of passersby.

The first floor showcases women's accessories, including leather goods like bags and wallets, as well as scarves and shoes. The colorful, latest items displayed on the wall-to-wall screens add a vibrant touch to the chic interior. A new jewelry corner has also been established in a secluded area, featuring a complete collection from bridal to fine jewelry. While the extensive selection might be overwhelming, the spacious floor includes sofa areas, allowing for a relaxed and enjoyable shopping experience.

Made to Measure Capsule Collection "Lapo’s Wardrobe"

The second floor, primarily for menswear and accessories like bags and shoes, now features a dedicated space for the Made to Measure capsule collection "Lapo’s Wardrobe," a Japan debut, alongside the latest collections and business suits. This collection, born from a collaboration last June between Frida Giannini and Italian style icon Lapo Elkann, comprises 27 looks (23 men's, 4 women's) that contemporarily reinterpret classic tailoring.

With over 80 fabrics, there are 178 combinations of color and material, and customization is possible down to the finest details, including lining, button selection, finishing, and embellishments. Items tailored in Italy will be ready in approximately 7 to 8 weeks. Additionally, made-to-order leather goods, shoes, and jewelry are available, which are also worth exploring.

Dresses for Celebrities on the Red Carpet Exhibited in Japan for the First Time

The third floor focuses on womenswear, bags, shoes, and accessories from the latest collections. In contrast to the men's floor on the second level, this floor has a softer ambiance with a beige and gold color scheme and includes a VIP room separated by glass doors. To commemorate the reopening, the third floor is also showcasing dresses from the "Première Collection" for the first time in Japan—pieces normally only seen at the Gucci Museo in Italy. This offers a rare opportunity to see up close the special gowns created for celebrities walking the red carpet.

While elevators are available to move between the shop's three floors, we highly recommend taking the stairs when you visit. The mirrored walls reflect the endlessly extending gold columns, and looking up reveals a glamorous space reminiscent of a lounge, with a chandelier sparkling above, creating an extraordinary, almost cinematic experience.

This kind of experience, which makes you feel special just by visiting, is also a part of the joy of shopping. We encourage you to visit the reborn "Gucci Aoyama."
