Discovering Your Own "Idea" (Essence) Through Personal Styling



The lineup at “idea by SOSU” spans an astonishingly wide range, from high-end maison brands and emerging designers to vintage pieces. However, this breadth is underpinned by a consistent core principle maintained since its opening seven years ago.

Clothing that transcends trends and can become vintage. Items that are not necessarily the most popular in Japan, but rather those that “we want to introduce and express,” prioritizing our own vision over what other shops might be stocking. Pieces that excel not only in design but also in comfort, functionality, and durability—truly superior items..

These principles shape the lineup at “idea by SOSU,” filled with items that are “unique,” “practical for everyday wear and active use,” and “cherishable for a long time.” Furthermore, the reservation-only system allows staff and guests to engage in one-on-one consultations, carefully discovering “clothing that truly suits you.”

Now, let's hear directly from Noe Okamoto, the director, about the styles and items that “idea by SOSU,” a place that embodies the essence of enjoying fashion, is most excited to present this season. To propose four styles based on brands, she selected Acne, Alaïa, Paco Rabanne, and Simone Rocha.

Acne, a brand that every shop eagerly seeks to stock, is currently soaring. "While many shops might select heavy, dark-colored items for fall and winter, at idea, we've curated pieces with bright color palettes. This season, Acne presented many playful styles, so I've chosen items like a heart-patterned scarf and knits with intentionally distressed textures."

Simone Rocha




Alaïa, often called the "sculptor of silhouettes," is renowned for its "exceptional cutting and fitting. To truly experience the brand's essence, this season I've selected many of Alaïa's classic pieces that showcase beauty when worn. I truly want customers to try them on and feel the silhouette for themselves."

The ready-to-wear from Paco Rabanne is exclusively handled by “idea by SOSU” in Japan. "This season, it's a rich collection that minimally interprets the brand's signature futurism. At idea, we've focused on items incorporating chains and metal details."

Simone Rocha, also gaining attention as the daughter of renowned designer John Rocha, is another top pick. "Her masterful combination of lace and tulle, along with techniques like applying these materials to wool, showcases incredibly sophisticated craftsmanship. Yet, the key is their wearability. I encourage styling them as a statement piece for daily outfits, perhaps paired with denim."




When it comes to color-focused提案, we highlight red and blue. "Instead of deep red, a bright vermilion is a global trend. While pale colors are also a major trend this season, I recommend incorporating vivid hues like this through accessories or as accent colors. The same applies to the vibrant and deep blues that have been popular since last year. Using them as accents adds a refined finish to any styling."
