Combining Contrasting Items and Colors
"I want to incorporate subtle volume, like pleats, or details in color and material contrasts into clean, simple styling," says buyer Yukiko Sudo. She's currently focusing on looks with "minimal modern" as her keyword.
Her styling tip? "For example, pair a minimal top with a voluminous skirt, or stick to a black and white monochrome palette. Combining contrasting items and colors creates a modern, contemporary feel."
The recommended coordinate featured here pairs a trench coat-style sleeveless dress from Echantillon No.4 with rock-inspired skinny pants. A blue hat adds a personal touch.
"Peplum-detail blouses and coats with gathers or pleats are fresh. Pairing them with simple pants or skirts is very current," she notes. When styling is kept subdued or minimal, adding a pop of color with hats or accessories is key.
Beyond the items shown in the coordinate, she also recommends the peplum-hem top from Chatelier and simple beige pants with a beautiful silhouette.
This perfectly balanced, contemporary style is definitely worth taking inspiration from.
