Featuring a "Cat-Eared Professor" Print by Manga Artist Yoriko Hoshi

Ryuichi Sakamoto announced his return to music activities, which includes composing the score for director Yoji Yamada's film "Living with My Mother," set to premiere on Saturday, December 12th. The announcement, made on August 3rd, was also posted on his personal Facebook page and instantly shared worldwide.

To celebrate his return after approximately one year, the "Professor's Return! Commons T-shirts Fair" is being held until Monday, August 31st, on "commmonsmart," the EC site for Sakamoto's label "Commons." Special items, the "Welcome Back, Professor! T-shirt" and "Welcome Back, Professor! Bag," have been released. The site also features a recent photo of Ryuichi Sakamoto wearing the T-shirt and his message about his return.



The illustrations for these items were created by manga artist Yoriko Hoshi, known for her popular manga "Kyou no Konomura-san" and winner of the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize for Manga Grand Prize for "Aizawa Riku." The T-shirt features a "Cat-Eared Professor" drawn specifically for this occasion, while the bag, large enough to hold vinyl records, is printed with the "Cat-Eared Professor in a White Coat" that previously appeared in SWITCH magazine, along with the newly added phrase "I am Back!"

Additionally, for this fair, Commons is reissuing previously sold-out original T-shirts from Commons Mart, along with newly released YMO T-shirts and T-shirts commemorating the visit of musician Arto Lindsay to Japan.

Furthermore, during the event period, customers who purchase ¥15,000 (tax included) or more on the site will receive a card with Ryuichi Sakamoto's autograph (shipping scheduled for November). Some of the items featured will also be available for sale at the music festivalWORLD HAPPINESS 2015, scheduled for Sunday, August 23rd.
