Adding Open and Glamorous 70s Elements to Dress Styles

"Fashion isn't fun if it's not enjoyable," says Mariko Kato, buyer for the women's merchandise department at STRASBURGO. Here, she introduces glamorous coordinates that add a touch of the "70s"—one of the season's trend keywords—centered around dresses that showcase couture techniques.

Styling to Elevate Your Mood!

"Fashion isn't fun if it's not enjoyable! I want to cherish the excitement of wearing a dress," says Mariko Kato, buyer for the women's merchandise department at STRASBURGO. "My recommendation is styling that adds open and glamorous 70s elements. For example, even when choosing a classic item, selecting one with a longer length reminiscent of Yves Saint Laurent in the 70s would be a good idea."

As for the color palette, she notes, "All-white ensembles, like those seen at Celine and Hermes, or conversely, vibrant color combinations of yellow, coral orange, turquoise, and plum feel fresh."

"Among these, dresses that boost a happy mood are a must-have. In particular, relaxed-fit tunic dresses, when layered with pants, offer a stylish look for this season and are highly recommended."

Pairing a Tunic Dress, Wearable on Its Own, with Pants

"The main piece for this coordination is a tunic dress by PASCAL MILLET, a talented young designer whose brand is launching in Japan for the first time this season after working with Givenchy and Balenciaga. Selecting geometric or monochrome prints creates a sophisticated look. While this dress can be worn on its own, pairing it with white pants creates a relaxed and stylish outfit."

"Add a trendy touch with accessories. I recommend items like the 'ORIGAMI' bag from VBH, which is creating a buzz among New York celebrities. For shoes, slightly more delicate styles are better than voluminous super high heels."

Select Classic Items with Intricate Details

"For classic items like trench coats and little black dresses, this season's mood calls for those with intricate details that evoke couture techniques. The original STRASBURGO trench coat is characterized by its standing collar, a voluminous gathered back, and a long hemline. Pascal Millet's little black dress, despite its flared mini length, exudes an air of mature sophistication with its neckline design and structured shoulders. I'd love for you to wear it with a cool, dashing style."

"For accessories, opt for items with a punch. Subtly carry a matte python chain pochette from the highly popular ZAGLIANI, or add a touch of vacation vibe with GIANVITO ROSSI's wood-heeled sandals."
