Regarding the new fragrance “Traversée du Bosphore ~Sky of Istanbul~,” perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour shares, “This new creation was born from the inspiration I received during an actual trip to Istanbul, Turkey.”
“The blooming tulips, the scent of saffron drifting from the spice market, the ceaseless flow of the bazaar, the raw hides encountered in the leatherworkers’ district, the rose and pistachio notes of Turkish delight… Istanbul, where I spent ten days, was filled with such diverse charms and provided immense inspiration.”
Duchaufour has previously created fragrances inspired by visits to places like Mali, the Kingdom of Bhutan, and the rainforests of Panama during the rainy season. “The new Traversée du Bosphore ~Sky of Istanbul~ is conceived from Istanbul, a gateway between East and West, resulting in a very universal scent. For new fragrance creation, experience and the initial impression are crucial. This time, I was completely captivated by the scent of raw leather,” he explained.
