Autumn 2014: The Theme is "Helicopter Rescue"
The Victorinox Rescue Tool, the inspiration for the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection, was jointly developed by the Swiss fire brigade and Victorinox. Christophe Lemaire uses their resilient spirit as the backbone for this collection's theme.
The collection unfolds with seasonal themes reflecting operations in extreme environments: "Helicopter Rescue" for autumn, "Mountain Rescue" for winter, and "Fire Rescue" for the holidays. Each item incorporates functionality and techniques derived from rescue teams and vintage military wear.
Key items for autumn are inspired by helicopter pilot uniforms, featuring contrasting piping, oversized zippers, and taped seams.
For winter, designs and functionality are balanced, drawing from the gear of mountain rescue teams designed to withstand harsh climatic conditions. Outerwear adopts a modern olive color palette with authentic Swiss military camouflage patterns.
The holiday collection is themed around fire rescue teams, with a color palette of black and smoky gray accented by contrasting pops of bright orange frames.
Since its founding in 1884 by Karl Elsener in his hometown of Ibach, Switzerland, Victorinox has upheld the tradition of the Swiss Army Knife for over 130 years, evolving into a brand that offers a total lifestyle. It's worth paying attention to Victorinox's functional fashion.
