CARVEN | CARVEN MAN 2013 Summer Collection Blooms with Botanical Colors
CARVEN
A Summer of Playful WASP Style, à la John F. Kennedy Jr.
CARVEN MAN - Summer 2013 Collection
The summer collection lookbook from CARVEN MAN, the menswear line by the Parisian brand CARVEN, a favorite at select shops, has arrived ahead of schedule. The collection evokes a scene of staying at Cap-Ferret, a famed French resort, much like an American spending weekends in the Hamptons on the East Coast.

Escape Paris and Uniforms for Relaxed, Happy Days!
Designer Guillaume Henry's aim for Carven Men is to continuously explore menswear while establishing a unique aesthetic. Proportions focus on silhouette contrasts, and combinations are made more beautiful. Materials and colors are juxtaposed yet harmonious, such as tweed-finished linen and sheer seersucker cotton paired with distressed or coated printed poplin.
For the Summer 2013 collection, we propose a style of playing with a dandy yet relaxed and happy, John F. Kennedy Jr.-esque WASP look in a French suburban resort.
Pay attention to the original styling and proportions, like pairing a rider's jacket over a light suit, a hoodie with short overalls, or a peacoat worn over underwear.
The colors—yellow, orange, light blue, and greens in every shade—evoke the sweetness of summer market fruits and cool water. All suggest fresh botanicals. For prints, look for botanical specimen prints reminiscent of pressed flowers forgotten between the yellowed pages of a dictionary, and kaleidoscope prints. Faded colors recall years gone by.
Furthermore, Carven Men completes the summer styling with backpacks from a collaboration with PORTER, rubberized leather penny loafer moccasins, and derby shoes (lace-up shoes) born from a collaboration with the South of France shoe brand "Zespa."
